CORRECT PROCEDURE FOR ASSEMBLING MOTOR
- Slide ARMATURE BEARING #M113 on each end of shaft.
Be sure thin flanges are to outside.
- Push WORM #M179 to commutator end of shaft.
Make sure armature bearing is free with a little play, then snap this entire assembly into CHASSIS #C161 as shown.
- Place MOTOR TERMINAL CLIP #C162 to side of chassis between plastic ribs.
Turn chassis upside down and insert PICKUP SHOE #C148.
Repeat for other side.
Pickup shoes will hold terminal clip in place.
- Insert BRUSH #M106 into SPRING #M107 and then into BRUSH SCREW #M118.
This unit is then screwed through slot of terminal clip into hole of chassis.
Make sure screw is tight against terminal clip for contact.
- Front and rear GUIDE PINS #C169 are identical and should be replaced when worn.
Just push them out of hole and push in new pins.
A dab of light grease to each axle, motor shaft and gears are required every few hours of running to keep cars running free.
HINT: Do NOT use excessive amounts of lubricants as any grease or oils on commutators or brushes will slow down your slot cars considerably.
Keep slot car track roadway clean by wiping with dry soft cloth. Static electricity will attract lint to axles and gears causing improper performance and possible damage.
HINT: For best results do NOT run any slot car set directly on carpet.

To separate the slot car body from the slotcar chassis, spring frame gently as shown in the above diagram.
Extreme care should be taken not to drop the guide pins during this procedure.
HINT: For proper weight distribution, place weights as shown.
The tabs on the slot car chassis will hold the weights in place.
